An Afternoon in Mumbai

It was an odd timing to go to Nariman Point but we were short of time still we decided to sit at a place where we can hear sea waves hitting the stones. Although sun was right on top of Arabian Sea, air was soothing. I was sitting with her, a girl whom I liked than any other girl. We were sitting on the bench facing the road with a mixed sound of BMWs to Fiat taxis to Honda and Skoda cars. The old Sea facing apartment constructed during the time Dhirubhai Ambani might be a kid or was just born, with such a strategical location that the owner of the apartment had a routine of watching Queen's Necklace after every breakfast and dinner.

"How happy that man might be" she said looking at the man in balcony of such a strategically located apartment.

"And why do you think so?" I said

"He has got everything in life, a sea facing flat at Nariman Point what else does one need in life." I felt that her voice had a greed for big money and this was not the first time I heard from her, but this time she made it very clear.

"How can you say that, he might have some problems too. What if mafia trouble's him every now and then what if his wife's cheating on him or his son is a gay." I had no intention of discouraging her but wanted to let her know that with big amount of money things might not be what they seem to be. I always use might because you never know there are lucky people all around you and you do not know.

I still wonder is/was that really an ambition or is/was that a deep greed which was a bud now blooming into a flower...

There was an instance in my life some years back when i imagined my life with her as my partner (well i guess at some point of time everyone does think like this) but eventually I came to know I was just being silly.

Till this day she was on my mind everyday and now hardly think of her anymore. Today eventually she crossed my mind after a long time... Yes I was missing her, but things are not always you want them to be Because as Limp Bizkit says Everything happens for a reason ;)

It was a memorable afternoon.
